How to get out Holiday Stains

Holiday stains are not worthy enough to fret over, so don’t let them get the best of you! Whether you’re going to Grandma’s or the dreaded in-laws, whether you’re head chef or sous-chef, there’s bound to be a spill, splatter, or stain.

This chef shirt was yellowed and stained… but not for long! In Lindsey’s house her husband cooks and makes a mess of his chef shirt. Why wouldn’t he, as he never has to worry about stains living with a “Laundress.” The stains in this picture are old. They were never stain treated and washed several times.

First, pre-treat all visible stains with The Laundress Stain Solution.

Fill a wash basin like The Laundress Wash Basin with Hot Water/Boiling Water – it is the most effective for lifting stains. Please note: hot water should only be used when cleaning cotton or linen.

Place one capful of The Laundress Bleach Alternative Classic into the filled basin.

Mix the bleach alternative into the water; we always have our Laundress Stain Brush on hand.

Submerge into the water to let soak for one hour. Repeat this process if needed.

Rinse out the water and “Voila” the stains are removed. There may be some faint stains left, but, not to worry, once you wash with The Laundress Detergent. Your chef shirt (stained shirt) will be good as new!

Pour 1/8 of a cup of The Laundress Whites Detergent into your machine. Set the machine to “whitest whites” or something similar. You will want a hot water, high agitation and long cycle to ensure the item is as clean as it possibly can be. This process is only necessary when you have tough stains or old stains like this.

Spray with The Laundress Stiffen-Up, steam or iron, and your Chef is ready to get dirty again.

So if some spills their red wine on you during dinner, not to worry...just follow these easy steps from The Laundress. Happy Holidays from all of us at The Laundress!
