The Laundress Puts in Time at Baby Buggy for Sandy Relief!

The Laundress team recently volunteered for the Sandy relief efforts with our favorite charity partner, Baby Buggy. With so many centers in need, the crew helped organize, inventory and pack up items for the much-needed shelters impacted by the storm. Along with their larger outreach programs, Baby Buggy is also focused on providing the devastated areas with donated baby supplies, clothing, personal care products, etc. that help the youngest victims of the storm and their families.

Aid in Baby Buggy's Efforts to Help Hurricane Victims

Here at the Laundress, we have been touched by the devastation Sandy has caused. Coworkers, friends and family alike have been displaced, some to greater effect than others. We reached out to our favorite nonprofit - and ongoing partner - Baby Buggy to find out what we all can do to help our neighbors and compatriots recover from this brutal natural disaster. For those of you outside the NYC area - Please take note of the first and third opportunities to help. Your aid will be invaluable in aiding those families most directly hit by this "perfect storm."

The Laundress Tips for Cleaning Up After a Flood

Here at The Laundress in New York we are doing our best, both personally and professionally, for those affected by the storm. In addition to donating warm clothes, food, and assistance—we also wanted to share our “expert” advice on how to best care for storm affected items.

Receiving numerous calls from those eagerly anticipating their return home to damages, with questions varying from “are you a laundry mat?” to “what’s the best way to begin clean up” and “how to deal with what was in flooded storage?”

 

We hope this is a helpful list for now and we will continue to add and share what we can. Our hearts and our laundry room are open to all. Please note our Laundry Service is here to take on whatever you cannot—whether it be to time, lack of space, or fear.
