New from The Laundry Room

Here at The Laundress we’ve recently launched our full washing service.  Whether you have an antique gown, structured business suit, or just tricky stains we’re here to help keep your clothing looking its best.  To show you just how firmly we stand behind our product and service, we’ve been documenting along the way.  Below is some of the work we’ve been doing.

Check out this antique silk dress…over the years it aquired some heavy yellowing and severe rust stains. This was no easy task, but the proper pre-treating and soaking allowed us to restore this beautiful antique (lots of work and patience).

After years of storage….

After one week at The Laundress…

We gave her a nice steam and this dress went home looking good as new! For more information on washing Silk and Delicates, click here.

We know how particular (and expensive) girls can be about their prom dress; we also know how quickly they can get dirty- so let us help!

Check out these before and after pictures.  Never let Make-up or self-tanner ruin the party.

These two cashmere sweaters had previously been dry cleaned, which we never recommend. If done delicately your fine cashmere can be washed, it’s better for the fibers and helps to keep them clean and soft!

Believe it or not…many suits and blazers can be washed
this Structured Ralph Lauren Blazer was made of cashmere!

Stay tuned for more washing with The Laundress!

Your products are truly amazing! last week I removed old coffee stains in my boyfriends white cotton bathrobe. I used the Bleach Alternativ and Wash&Stain Bar for soaking and the Whites Detergent and Bleach Alternativ for washing. Now the bathrobe shines like new!

About the blazers... I found a great black, perfect-fit-off-the-rack Banana Republic Blazer at a second-hand/vintage shop for $12.99! Omg, am I excited. And it looks to be in excellent condition. I would LOVE to wash this blazer, especially because I don't know who or what was in it before I got my hands on it.

However, I'm scared after reading your post on washing blazers and suiting which says, "WARNING:
Any items with rayon or a viscose blend is unpredictable so wash at your own risk!" The fabric makeup is as follows(as follows):

Shell: 60% wool, 30% rayon, 8% nylon, 2% spandex.

Lining: 95% polyester, 5% spandex.

So now what?
